THE FIA'S ACTION FOR ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN IS FOCUSED ON EDUCATING AND ADVOCATING GLOBALLY FOR SAFER ROADS, VEHICLES AND BEHAVIOURS.
Road safety is a global problem with almost 1.3 million people losing their lives and up to 50 million others seriously injured annually in road accidents. It is estimated that by 2020 road traffic accidents will claim nearly 2 million lives each year.
On 11 May 2011 the FIA launched its Action for Road Safety campaign in support of the United Nations’ Decade of Action for Road Safety. The FIA’s initiative aims to lower the alarming figures associated with global road accidents and to spread the safer motoring message on the international stage and through its more than 230 Automobile Clubs in over 140 countries.
2015 will be a crucial year for road safety: it will be the mid-term of the Decade of Action with a Global Ministerial Summit on road safety to be held in November in Brazil. It is an opportunity to mobilize again and take action for road safety.

THEY SUPPORT FIA ACTION FOR ROAD SAFETY
Road safety is a top priority for the FIA. We’re calling on all road users to be responsible and to obey the rules on the road. By taking our pledge, you are making a personal commitment to improving road safety, one of today’s leading challenges. We all have a role to play and together we can all save lives.
As an F1 driver, and even more now as a World Champion, I feel I have a responsibility to promote safe driving outside the track. The FIA’s Golden Rules are simple rules that everyone should follow. I strongly encourage my fans to respect them and show their support by signing the pledge.
I may not be old enough to drive on the roads yet, but as someone who drives on tracks around the world I still feel really strongly about getting the road safety message out there. The FIA’s 10 Golden Rules are an important step towards saving lives. I encourage everyone to sign the pledge and together we can make roads safer across the globe.
Road safety is an immensely important topic and something I feel strongly about, both as a racing driver and as a parent. The statistics are very disturbing and it’s easy to see why the FIA has made road safety such a priority. I am pleased to contribute to this global effort and I will give my full support to the FIA’s Action for Road Safety campaign.
I am very happy to be an ambassador for the FIA Action for Road Safety campaign. It is a great initiative from the FIA and it has the potential to make a real impact on thousands of lives around the world. If everyone signs the pledge and follows the simple advice, there will be a significant improvement in road safety; this is the target.
I am the 2014 Karting World Champion in KZ class. I won lots of titles and races in my life, but when I drive on the road I always pay attention to the surroundings and to the other cars. Something I learned is that you must behave and drive following the rules. Drive safely. Sign The Pledge!
Every 30 seconds somebody is killed on the roads and each year there is 1.3 million people that die in road accidents around the world. That is twice the population of Oslo which is a frightening statistic and one that we need to reduce. If everyone signs the pledge and follows the simple advice, there will be a significant improvement in road safety.
Every year, road crashes kill 1.3 million people worldwide and injure 50 million more. If nothing is done, by 2020 these figures will rise to 2 million deaths and 80 million injured. We need to reverse this unacceptable trend. Follow the FIA’s 10 Golden Rules for Safer Motoring and help make roads safer for everyone.
Road crashes kill 500 children every day. We have to act now to save kids’ lives around the globe. Show your support to the FIA’s 10 Golden Rules and spread the road safety message.
Every 30 seconds someone dies on the road. That’s more than 3,000 deaths per day. We need to put an end to this. Join me and follow the FIA’s 10 Golden Rules and start making roads safer now
